Wilde American is committed to creating heirloom-quality products in the USA. We’re bringing something elevated to the table to share with you. If we don't use it, we won’t sell it.

For Wilde American, creating the best gear available is mandatory. We strive to constantly evolve, making every product better and better.

We’ve sought out experts and worked hard to create the most durable, functional products around, using the best materials, all sourced from the U.S. Our base of operations is in Maryland. We use BioThane from Ohio, and the hand stitching and manufacturing of the leashes and leads is done there as well. Our custom metal clips come from Connecticut. You’ll always know exactly where our products come from.

Owner & Founder

Carter Wilde

Wilde American Founder Carter Wilde is a professional dog trainer, born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Since 2005, Carter has fine-tuned his skills and created a unique training approach that delivers optimal results to happy clients. Carter has logged more than 30,000 hours training thousands of dogs—and their owners! He also trains service dogs for people with PTSD and clients with mobility challenges and has consulted for national nonprofits to develop service dog travel and testing standards. Currently, Carter’s work has evolved from training dogs to training dog trainers, and his latest passion is mentoring and developing training programs for aspiring dog trainers. Carter brings more than 20 years of experience in the dog training world to creating exceptional gear for dogs and their humans.

Using materials from outside the U.S. and manufacturing products overseas just doesn’t sit well with us. Some companies claim they make their products in the U.S. but actually just assemble them here, using materials from elsewhere. Wilde American sources, assembles, and produces everything in America.
